I had to attend my dad's funeral at a Catholic Church. I was raised in that church but became a born again follower of Jesus Christ. At the funeral, my husband and my niece and nephew just did not follow the part of the mass that we did not agree with. I also told the priest that I would pick out something from the King James bible to have read during the funeral, but I would not pick out anything from the Catholic Cadechism. We always need to stand for our Lord. Maybe you could just attend the reception, but not show that you approve of the union while there.

I just recently returned back to God after 35 years in this lifestyle. I still have some SSA but have no desire at all for that lifestyle. Being fairly logic minded, it was the work of Patterns of Evidence that got me back on the right path. I can see God's work in me with the desire to live a righteous life with God. I feel closer to Him now than at any time in the past.

i am so loving hearing this woman's story. It gave me God bumps when she and her girl friend opened up that Bible and did that pointing thing . . . they didn't know where to begin reading . . . and their finger landed on that verse in Deuteronomy that addresses homosexuality . . . what are the chances of that happening? That is a God thing My guess is that her brother, who had become a Christian before passing away from cancer, must have been praying for his sister and her girl friend. God is faithful . . . I love, too, how they both got down on their knees and prayed, asking the Lord to reveal Himself to them if he were real and also asked him to reveal to them if their lifestyle was wrong. All of it is so relevant to being aware of toxicity all around us , and being good stewards of the bodies and home environments that God has given us. I have always been a big fan of white vinegar to clean almost anything, and drinking fresh uncontaminated water is also crucial- Get the app "find a spring" and keep some glass jars at the ready to fill up! Even if you have to work, family should come first. We have breakfast and dinner together each night. Any extra work is done before breakfast so can be “present” as much as possible. Wish could be a SAHM! 😢

People with seizure disorder should steer clear of strobing lights. I know, I have it. You don’t want to visit the ER every day, ya know. Indirect, ambient lighting is more calming. We have a stained glass fireplace screen that makes the fireplace in the front room so inviting and cozies up the room. Hemp and Bamboo clothing is buttery soft. I don’t know the process they go through, but I love the feel.

I love Castile Soap!! Does good as a shampoo substitute, cleans gently and conditions. You may or may not agree, but it works for me. Never heard of :washing soda” before. Borax is a must have. Vinegar as well. This guy knows his way around the house, Becket!

Becket, if you are still reading comments from past shows, I would urge you to watch Gavin Ortlund's response to Megan's slander. You know Gavin is one of the most humble and teachable guys you've ever interviewed. It broke my heart to see Meghan lump him in with other shepherds for sale. She claims that wasn't her intention but would you want your name in a book about child abuse? She has since doubled down on her accusations without evidence as Gavin points out in his video. Ironically, the liberal agenda finding its way into the church isn't the primary problem. Read what Jesus said about the Laodicean church in Revelation 3:14-22. If the churches weren't corrupt, they would have the discernment to reject the infiltration of heresy leading to apostasy. The culture as a whole is what has infiltrated the church. It was already asleep by the time liberal politics made its way into churches.

Becket, I wonder why you would want to name an episode in such way. There was a series of pornographic DVDs about 20 years ago with footage of drunk women performing sexual acts on camera in exchange for free gifts or cash with this name. The evil guy who created it made millions but women in the video often did not even know they were recorded, or at least didn’t have the capacity to make careful choice because of intoxication, and they were forced to live with consequences. He also has a long history of abusing women (not surprising, I guess), to the degree where he can’t even return to the States right now because he grabbed some girl by the throat and slammed her head against the floor in 2013. He fled to Mexico to avoid consequences. There was an article about him in the Guardian some time ago. Evil will always exist in this world, but I believe we as Christians should be very careful as to not in any way appear as if we condone it. I’m pretty sure if the video was simply called “The History of Feminist Movement” it would get the same number of views, maybe even more.

In that spirit of considering a podcast with any who live out their redemption with thoughfulness and faithfulness, I have a book and person in mind. Excellent. First time listener. I love the way you pushed forward in an ordered way through each & every chapter so we could get a sense of the content. Megan appears to be perfect for this task. So many people would slide into double talk or hedging. She is firm but matter of fact. She cares deeply but not in an emotional way. This inspires confidence. I heard you at the beginning make a mistake and say you WERE a believer, then correct yourself. I'm sure your story matters. You appear to be an important voice at present. I am not at the end of this but I’m going to stop listening to it. I found everything I have heard up to 42 minutes incredibly unsatisfying. There is very little Scripture being quoted or even referred to, and sources such as the “lesbian philosophy professor” who I am giving a good guess at being Kathleen Stock is being quoted. Stock left her husband and children to embark upon a relationship with a woman. She’s not someone I would be quoting. What Stock says about men, women and trans is what any normal working class person with a high school education would say. I’m working class British. I am bisexual by orientation and used to have what we called back then gender ldentity disorder. I do not recognise the picture of the uk that this lady is painting at all. The uk benefited financially from slavery. Really? Where? When? The uk also paid reparations up until two decades ago. We also had navy ships patrolling the seas to prevent slave ships from operating and 2000 sailors - working class men - lost their lives doing. The uk is a poor country. Most people here work hard just to keep a roof above their heads and most had a poor education and so cannot move forward with their lives. Where is all this wealth from slavery? It does not exist. I can hear from this woman’s accent that she is middle class and has spent a lot of time in academia. I am working class and university educated and work in working class areas so I can see where this woman’s false impressions of the uk come from. Women in the uk have always worked. Always. They had to because they were poor so they worked in their cottage industries, on the farms, then in factories, coal mines and in service in wealthy people’s homes. British women have always worked. Yes some women today are sleeping around and getting choked. And then they go out again and sleep around and get choked again. Then sleep around and get choked again. They really are ridiculous. No amount of assault and rape stops most British women from making wiser choices about being selective and maybe not going somewhere with strangers. As for being same sex attracted in the uk that people might not want to be your friend, that is very true. I see the woman skipped over whether or not her suspicions were true. She got those suspicions from somewhere. It is true. When a woman in the uk is gay, straight women do not want to know her. Maybe far left women want to know her, but it is really a virtue signal and to treat the gay women as a pet. Straight men have no problems with gay women. When I went to university and was heavily involved in the Christian union, the females didn’t really want to be friends, but then I didn’t really want to be friends with them because I see a lot of women as boring. I prefer hanging out with men, I married a man, men want to be around me. After university, if straight Christian women could not continue to treat me as a pet or an issue that needed to be solved, they screamed all sorts of stuff at me. They did not see me as an equal. After university, the Christian men no longer wanted anything to do with me. In the Christian world, same sex attracted people are an inconvenience. When friends make new friends and get church based jobs the gay Christian friend who has always followed Jesus becomes a giant inconvenience. 24 years of church were just 24 years of bullying and female church leaders trying to get with me and then accuse me of misinterpreting their grabbing me and demanding that I hug them. 24 years of women being sneaky and pretending to be my friend but really they want me to make their life exciting. Instead of letting Jesus be everything to them. After ten years away from church, I am finally back in a church regularly. There is no Bible study, there is no sharing outside of being in a church on a Sunday. And this is wonderful because it means no one can get to bully me or try to get into a relationship with me or treat me different for being same sex attracted. I can just go to church and worship Jesus. Anyone who tells you that same sex attracted people are treated as normal human beings in uk churches is lying. Plain and simple, they are lying. As for BLM, I had it worked out since I was a toddler that Black people’s lives mattered. I found it very confusing when friends started posting black squares on their social media and attending protests to show they were not racist. Yeah, the lack of Scripture in this and plain untruths about the UK, our history, our wealth, our love for same sex attracted people in churches, this is not an episode I can like.

What an amazing interview! Everyone needs to hear it. My gut feeling is that the Christian belief of the soul that goes to Jesus at death is very much to be blamed for leading people into ocult. It makes sense that if my dad passed away and I had a great relatioship with him and he was very wise and I missed him, I would like to ask his advice in a very difficult moment in my life. Why not? He is with Jesus and he knows what would be the best decision I should make. Or Maybe I struggle financially. Would not my dad give me some insights what shares to invest my money in so I can get my finances on track? Maybe we need to pay attention to what the wise king Solomon said about the dead ... that "the dead know nothing" ... and Jesus said that the dead are sleeping till the resurrection.
